A car company that many may not know about is Fiskar Automotive, that is centered in Anaheim, California. This car is newly developed, however, they are on the cutting edge of technology. They are technically the first company to bring forth a hybrid car that is complete with luxury, in which they debuted in 2008 at the North American Auto Show. The car is the Fiskar Karma, the only car that the company has produced as of right now. However, with the technology that they are employing, must can be expected to see from te car maker in the future.

So what sets this car above the rest? The Karma is a four door, plug in hybrid that is the top of the line in luxury vehicles that are hybrids. The car has a solar paneled roof that can generate the lithium ion batteries in the car. What is so great about the car is that it uses enough electricity to generate the motor to completely run on electricity. Plus, with the solar panels that are in place, the car is given an extra four or five miles per day if the day is sunny. Plus, it can be allowed to sit out in the sun and generate the batteries to generate enough power that the hybrid may not have to be plugged into a power outlet at all. The use of solar panels has long been a goal of the automotive world, and Fiskar is one of the firs to reach this goal. But, with that being said, not many people realize that the Karma is an option, though it is one of the biggest options that the person has to choose from when they are in the market for a hybrid vehicle when they want quality and performance in a neat package.

There has been no release of the official fuel mileage, however Fiskar said that the driver would not have to fill up the tank with gas, but once a year if they only drive around fifty miles per day. Fiskar also states that the car can get around one hundred miles per gallon in a range of 300 miles. This is amazing statistics that speak to the car in great volumes. Plus, the performance of the car is not hindered slightly just because it is a hybrid, which is usually the case with most hybrids on the market. The car can reach sixty miles per hour in as little as 5.8 seconds, with a maximum speed of 125 miles per hour.

The Karma is also available in a convertible form called the Karma S Sunset, which did receive quite a bit of attention at the 2009 North American Auto Show. The interior of the car is also something that Fiskar is proud of as it uses Eco-friendly materials, with the option of having leather seats for those that want the top of the line in luxury. Overall, the Karma is one of the best hybrids that an American car maker has to offer.
