Coda Automotive is an American company that runs out of Santa Monica, California that produces electric cars, as well as lithium ion batteries for other car companies that are producing their own electric powered cars. They work with a variety of well-known businesses, including Porsche, the most recognized business that they work with. However, the main focus is their own electric cars.

Thus far, the company has produced one car, called the Coda Sedan. Those that are interested in this car are going to find that there are a number of incentives being offered by the company in an effort to get more electric cars onto the streets of the United States. The battery of the car allows for people to use the battery for a total of ninety to one hundred and twenty miles before the car needs to be charged, and that is going on average thirty-two miles per day. The biggest advantage that Coda is offering people is the option to no longer have to rely on gasoline to get where they need to be.

Another great feature of this car is that the location of the battery is under the car in the middle, instead of the usual front or back location that most other electric cars are utilizing. This means that the weight of the car is more evenly distributed, thus the person driving will find that the car handles much better and with little effort when compared to other electric cars out there. Plus, it allows for full use of the trunk and the backseat without having to deal with the battery like other electric cars may have the owner doing.

The car does have impressive performance since the battery powered motor can produce around 134 horsepower, which is a nice number even for those cars that utilize gasoline in order to run. In fact, this number is a bit better than other electric cars that are on the market, which makes sense since Coda is one of the leading researchers with electrical car components and batteries. The reason that so many other car makers want to work with the company for their own designs, making them in high demand.

The safety of the car that Coda is offering the consumer market is very impressive. They have included the standard safety features such as the airbags in the driver and passenger side. But they also have thought of the safety issues that could be a problem with electrical ran cars. For example, the battery will not overheat because there are sensors to keep that from happening and directs energy to cool the battery down should it start to happen, which ensures that the car remains running no matter what. Plus, if the airbags deploy the battery disconnects in two places so that the risk of getting shocked is completely absent.
